Excited and Nervous!
There has been talk for months now about bringing Body Combat to our gym. It's a high intensity kick-boxing class by Les Mills that incorporates mixed martial arts and traditional kick-boxing. Not only do you have to be in crazy shape but the choreography is pretty daunting to learn.

I'm nervous too because the moves are so technical... you have to turn your heel out on a roundhouse kick, your guard has to be up all the time, you toe points down in a front kick, and the list goes on and on! It's a fabulous class to take but when it comes time to filming my certification video, yeesh!!
And of course you have to look like Barbie but punch like Ken! Combat-ready gear is a must :) Les Mills is big on "teaching in the essence" of each program. For RPM, you should look like a cyclist. For Body Flow, yogi gear is a must. And of course, in Body Combat, you "Stay in the Fight!" It may sound silly but it does create a sense of identity and authenticity that pairs with the music and choreography the participant can connect with. Debating a pair of these bad boys...
